With Christmas on Friday, we want to remind you that to receive an order for Christmas you will need to place your order before 2PM ET on Wednesday, December 23rd. This will be only for overnight shipping orders only and for in stock items.

Lowrance release software update for HDS units

Lowrance asked us to pass this information along to all HDS owners:

The new 2.5 software is a free download from the Lowrance website and is recommended for all HDS displays worldwide for enhanced charting, sonar and SD memory card performance.

The 2.5 software MUST be installed to HDS to activate the new LSS-1 StructureScan™ sonar imaging system functions.

Key HDS Update Enhancements

• New radar overlay viewing option for all Navionics® chart displays
• New adjustable transparency of satellite photo overlay (land and/or sea) for Navionics® Platinum and Platinum+ chart displays

Raymarine has announced that they are introducing a new line of widescreen E-Series multifuncion display units. These units will be the first to employ their HybridTouch technology of touchscreen displays. We expect them to be available by the end of the year with three different sizes:

• E90w
• E120w
• E140w

Updated G2 Vision Cards are in

We have received a shipment of the new G2 Vision cards today that are not affected by the recall. Anyone with a backordered card will receive the new version with 2009 maps.

Lowrance BR24 Broadband Sounder and your HDS unit

Lowrance has release their highly anticipated BR24 Broadband Radar Dome. If you purchase this unit, you will need to go onto Lowrance's website and download the latest software update for the HDS unit you are connecting the radar. Otherwise, the BR24 will not function properly.

Garmin issues a recall on select G2 and G2 Vision Cards

Garmin has issued a recall on G2 and G2 Vision Cards manufactured between April 8 and June 3. For more information, check out there website on the link below to get more details:

Garmin Rebate

Sorry for the lack of updates.

Garmin has just introduced a rebate where if you buy any 4 inch or 5 inch chartplotter or chartplotter/fishfinder combo along with a G2 Vision card that you will receive $200 back in a mail in rebate. This is good until May 31st.

This is great deal in that you can get a jam-packed G2 Vision Card for as low as only $60 after the rebate. The Vision card provides detailed mapping including satellite images and aeronautical photos, 3D views of maps from your cockpit's perspective and from under the boat, and allows you to get detailed routes for waypoints much like a car GPS would.

New! Raymarine C-Series Widescreens

We are pleased to announce that we have added the new Raymarine C-Series widescreen multifunction displays onto our website. These models are the C90w, C120w, and C140w. Some of the new features are that these units employ a widescreen display, preloaded Navionics maps, and these C-Series units are networkable to hook up two displays into one system (previously only available in the E-Series and G-Series). Also, the C140w is the first 14 inch display in the C-Series line.

These units should be available some time in Q1 of 2009.

New England Boat Show Feb 14-22
